County Road 78 to be closed over I-70 for bridge repair project
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, February 27, 2017) – County Road 78 (Plainfield Road) will be closed next Monday, March 6th, over Interstate 70 in Belmont County for a bridge repair project.
CR 78 will be closed for 90 days. Traffic will be detoured on Township Road 808 to County Road 80 to U.S. Route 40 to County Road 40B back to County Road 78, and reverse.
I-70 traffic will be maintained.
ODOT’s contractor for this $1.5 million project is Shelly & Sands Inc., from Columbus, Ohio, and the completion date is August 31, 2017.

As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
