(New Philadelphia) - Beginning this Friday, Feb. 29th, 2008, the southbound lanes of State Route 7 will be closed for over a year in Stratton, Jefferson County, as part of FirstEnergy's environmental control retrofit project underway at the company's W.H. Sammis Plant.
One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on the northbound lanes of SR 7. However, traffic will be stopped occasionally over the next year for work associated with this project, so motorists should expect periodic delays.
Officials urge motorists to use an alternate route to avoid possible delays or traffic backups in this area. For more information, contact: Becky McCarty , Public Information Officer, at 330-308-3949.
