County Road 26 and County Road 80 closures postponed one week
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, March 3, 2014) – Work has been postponed one week on two separate Interstate 70 bridge repair projects in Belmont County due to weather.
County Road 26 and County Road 80 were both scheduled to be closed today for work on bridges over I-70. They will not be closed until next Monday, March 10th.
The first structure is located over I-70 on CR 26 about a mile west of Exit 208 (State Route 149). CR 26, which goes between U.S. 40 in Morristown and SR 147 in Bethesda, will be closed for 80 days. The official detour for CR 26 will be Township Rd. 262 to SR 149 to U.S. Route 40.
The cost for this project is approximately $1.3 million.
The second structure is located on CR 80 over I-70 about a mile west of the SR 331 Exit. CR 80, which goes between U.S. 40 and the Belmont County Industrial Park, will be closed for 60. The official detour for CR 80 will be CR 82 to U.S. 40.
The cost for this project is approximately $1.2 million.
There will also be intermittent lane closures on I-70 for both bridges.
ODOT’s contractor for both projects is Shelly & Sands Inc., from Zanesville, Ohio, and all work is expected to be completed by July 2014.
