Work to begin on Interstate 70/State Route 9 Interchange in St. Clairsville
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Wednesday, March 06, 2013) – Work is set to begin next week on the Interstate 70 bridge project over State Route 9 at St. Clairsville in Belmont County.
ODOT’s contractor, Beaver Excavating Company, from Canton, Ohio, plans to begin clearing and grubbing work next Monday, March 11th around the project area.
Work will include rehabilitating the I-70 bridge over SR 9, lengthening the westbound I-70 on-ramp from SR 9, and replacing the bridge that carries I-70 over the National Road Bikeway and Chambers Run.
Two lanes will be maintained in each direction on I-70 during construction.
Pedestrian and bicyclist access to the National Road Bikeway will be maintained with construction of a temporary trail.
The total cost for this project is about $9.7 million, and the completion date is August 31, 2014.
