Route 250 to be closed during daytime hours for utility
relocation at landslide site
BELMONT COUNTY – U.S. Route 250 will be closed during daytime hours on Tuesday, March 20th,
for utility relocation work at a recent landslide site between Bridgeport and
Ohio, from St. Clairsville, Ohio, will be closing the road around 8 AM and
expects to be reopen it by 6 PM the same day.
Traffic will be detoured during this
time; however, due to the short duration, detour signage will not be posted. The unsigned
detour will begin at the intersection of U.S. 250 and
SR 519, traffic can travel west on SR 519 to SR 9 south to I-70 east to U.S. 40
in Bridgeport, then east on U.S. 40 back to U.S. 250, and reverse.
Motorists are urged to plan ahead to
U.S. 250 has been reduced to one
lane with temporary traffic signals at the site since February 28th.
Long-term repairs to the landslide
area are pending.
