Knox County Mohican Valley Trail to be connected to Holmes County Trail in Brinkhaven
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, March 12, 2013) – U.S. Route 62 will be closed to traffic next Monday, March 18th, for construction of a pedestrian/bike tunnel under the roadway as part of the Holmes County Trail Project, Phase 5.
This phase of the trail project will connect the Knox County Mohican Valley Trail to Holmes County Road 10 on the Holmes County Trail in Brinkhaven. It will construct about 1,000 feet of a shared use trail, including the 260-foot, lighted tunnel under U.S. 62.
During construction of the tunnel, U.S. 62 will be closed for 45 days.
Beginning at the intersection of U.S. 62 and SR 514/SR 205 in the village of Danville, Knox County, traffic will be detoured north on SR 514 to the intersection of SR 514 and SR 39 in the village of Nashville, then east on SR 39 back to U.S. 62 in Millersburg, and reverse.
