ODOT seeks comments on Interstate 70 Mall Road Exit Ramp Project
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, March 15, 2011) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing improvements to the Interstate 70 westbound exit ramp and Mall Road intersection in Belmont County.
The improvements will lengthen and widen the I-70 westbound exit ramp left turn lane to 734 feet to provide additional queue length. Red Roof Lane will be widened to provide an entrance lane, a left turn only exit lane, and a through/right turn exit lane. As part of this improvement, five signalized intersections along U.S. Route 40 and Mall Road will also be interconnected.
All work will be performed within the existing right of way. Traffic will be maintained during construction which is anticipated for the summer of 2012.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental, and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include impacts associated with architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials, and the general location of the project.
