MEDIA ALERT UPDATE
UPDATE ON STATE HIGHWAYS CLOSED DUE TO FLOODING
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --Many roadways remain closed and/or restricted today due to high water and flooding in east-central Ohio, especially northern Tuscarawas County. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11, which includes Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, and Tuscarawas counties, provides the following state road closure updates:
SR 212, Carroll and Tuscarawas Counties
Closed from the intersection of SR 542 in Carroll County to I-77 at Bolivar in Tuscarawas County.
I-77 Interchange at Bolivar, Tuscarawas County
The I-77 northbound exit ramp at Bolivar is closed. I-77 mainline and the southbound on and off ramps are not affected.
SR 39, Carroll County
Closed east of Dellroy at Dellroy's elementary school.
SR 542, Carroll County
Restricted SR 542 between Dellroy and Fargo Rd. but may be closed later today. Additionally, SR 542 is restricted near Magnolia.
SR 212, Carroll County
Restricted between Sherrodsville and Leesville.
SR 799, Harrison County
Restricted near Clendening Lake.
SR 520, Holmes County
Restricted between Glenmont and U.S. 62 south of Killbuck in four different places.
SR 60, Holmes County
Closed north of Killbuck and restricted south of Killbuck.
SR 643, Holmes County
Restricted just south of SR 557.
SR 83, Holmes County
Restricted in two places north of Holmesville.
SR 93, Holmes County
Restricted about a mile north of Baltic.
U.S. 62, Holmes County
Restricted in two places between Killbuck and SR 83.
SR 258, Tuscarawas County
Closed between Stillwater and West Chester.
SR 800, Tuscarawas County
Closed at Stillwater.
SR 800, Tuscarawas County
According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, SR 800 south of Mineral City is expected to be closed, but it will remain open north of Mineral City. Officials continue to monitor the area.
No official detours are posted. All roadways will be reopened as soon as possible, but officials expect the restrictions to be in place through the weekend.
