Interstate 70 slide repair between St. Clairsville and Bridgeport to start next week
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, March 21, 2017) – Work is expected to begin next Tuesday, March 28th, on a slide repair project along the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 between St. Clairsville and Bridgeport in Belmont County.
Work will take place along the outside shoulder of westbound I-70. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained; however, the truck climbing lane will be shortened.
ODOT’s contractor for this $243,000 project is Ohio-West Virginia Excavating Co., from Shadyside, and the completion date is June 30, 2017.

As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
