State Route 524 closed to traffic between Carroll County line and Bergholz due to landslide
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, March 22, 2010) – State Route 524 was closed to traffic overnight in Jefferson County between the Carroll County line and Bergholz due to a landslide.
Engineers are evaluating the site today to determine the extent of the damages and repairs needed. Officials are hopeful that it may reopen to one-lane later this week.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 524 and SR 164 in Bergholz, traffic is being detoured north on SR 164 to SR 39 in Salineville, then west on SR 39 back to SR 524, and reverse.
