Lawson Avenue Bridge to be closed next week in Steubenville
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, March 27, 2017) – The Lawson Avenue Bridge over State Route 43 in the city of Steubenville, Jefferson County, will be closed to traffic next Monday, April 3rd, 2017, for 90 days.
One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on SR 43.
Lawson Avenue traffic will be detoured on Adam Street, to 7th Street, to SR 43, to Ohio Street, to Bellview Boulevard, back to Lawson Avenue, and reverse.
Various single lane closures will be required on SR 43 during the demolition process over the first few weeks. These will occur during off peak hours, between 9AM and 3PM. Short duration, 15 minute closures may also take place during that time, if needed.
ODOT’s contractor for this $1.2 million bridge deck replacement project is A.P. O’Horo Company, from Youngstown, Ohio, and the completion date is July 31, 2017.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
