State Route 7 to be restricted for bridge repairs near Rayland
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, March 27, 2017) – Starting Monday, April 3rd, State Route 7 will be restricted in two locations near Rayland in Jefferson County for a bridge repair project.
One, 12-foot lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction.
This is part of a $1.9 million project that also includes a SR 7 bridge near Tiltonsville and a SR 7 bridge at Wellsville in Columbiana County.
ODOT’s contractor is Shelly & Sands Inc., from Columbus, Ohio, and the completion date is June 30, 2017.
The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state's largest man-made asset – the transportation system. ODOT's mission is to provide the safe and easy movement of people and goods from place to place. As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
