State Route 152 landslide repair project to begin in Jefferson County
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, March 30, 2010) – Work will begin tomorrow on a landslide repair project on State Route 152 just south of Township Road 119 and north of Dillonvale in Jefferson County.
ODOT's contractor, Kokosing Construction Company Inc., from Columbus, Ohio, plans to begin clearing and grubbing work tomorrow, March 31st, and begin excavating the hillside to repair the slide area on Monday, April 5th.
Traffic will be maintained; only daytime lane restrictions are expected.
The cost of the project is approximately $400,000, and it should be completed by the end of September.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
