State Route 149 to be closed west of Glencoe next week for repairs
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, March 30, 2010) – State Route 149 will be closed to traffic just west of Glencoe in Belmont County next Monday, April 5th, for a slip repair, including drainage repairs and the replacement of three culverts.
The roadway will be closed for 60 days. Beginning at the intersection of SR 149 and SR 9, traffic will be detoured south on SR 9 to SR 147, then east on SR 147 back to SR 149, and reverse.
ODOT's contractor for this $324,374 project is Ohio-West Virginia Excavating Co., from Powhatan Point, Ohio, and the completion date is June 29, 2010.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
