State Route 646 to be Closed Next Week in Jefferson County for Culvert Replacement
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) -- State Route 646 will be closed next Monday, April 13th, for a culvert replacement just west of the State Route 43 and U.S. Route 22 Interchange near Wintersville in Jefferson County.
ODOT maintenance crews will be replacing this culvert in preparation for an upcoming resurfacing project.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 43 and SR 646, traffic will be detoured north on SR 43 to SR 152, then south on SR 152 back to SR 646 and reverse.
This work is expected to take five days to complete; therefore, SR 646 should be reopened to traffic late Friday, April 17th.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
