Resurfacing work to begin next week on State Route 39 between Roswell and Carroll County line
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, April 12, 2010) – Work will begin next Monday, April 19th, to resurface over five miles of State Route 39 in Tuscarawas County between Roswell and the Carroll County line.
In addition, over 11 miles of U.S. Route 36 will be resurfaced from the four-lane section near Newcomerstown to the Y-Tavern.
Traffic will be maintained on both routes.
ODOT's contractor for this $3.75 million project is Shelly & Sands Inc., from Zanesville, Ohio, and the completion date is August 31, 2010.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
