COUNTY ROAD 29 WORK TO RESUME NEXT WEEK CLOSING ROADWAY TO THROUGH TRAFFIC
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 will resume work next Monday, April 21st, to reconstruct County Road 29 (Industrial Park Road) in Harrison County.
The middle section of CR 29 will be closed to through traffic on Monday, but access will be maintained to the businesses located along the roadway from both the U.S. Route 22 and State Route 9 ends. This road closure is expected to last six weeks.
Shelly & Sands, Inc., from Zanesville, Ohio, who is the contractor for this $3.7 million project, began work last May to reconstruct just over two miles of the CR 29 roadway from SR 9 south of Cadiz to U.S. 22 west of the village. Work includes the construction of a more stable base, improved drainage, widening and resurfacing. In addition, less than a quarter of a mile of SR 9 will be reconstructed at its intersection with CR 29 to improve the vertical alignment of the roadway.
The completion date for this project is August 30, 2008.
