Area bridges to be inspected
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, April 14, 2015) – Weather permitting, several Belmont County bridges will be inspected over the next two weeks during daytime hours by an ODOT crew and a snooper truck.
On Monday, April 20th, officials will inspect the U.S. Route 40 bridge in Blaine over the Wheeling Creek, County Road 10, and an abandoned railroad. On Tuesday, April 21st, they will move to the Interstate 470 bridge over Water Tank Access Road. On Wednesday, April 22nd, the I-70 bridge over SR 7 and the Wheeling Creek at Bridgeport will be inspected. And on Thursday, April 23rd, the I-470 structure over SR 7, the Norfolk Southern Railroad, and the Ohio River will be inspected.
The SR 872 or Moundsville Bridge at Dilles Bottom will be inspected the following Monday, April 27th, and two bridges will be inspected on Tuesday, April 28th, including the SR 7 bridge at Dilles Bottom over Big Run and the SR 7 bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad at Shadyside.
Traffic will be restricted but maintained at all of these locations during this work.
