Nightly lane restrictions on Interstate 70 at State Route 331 Interchange may slow traffic again next week
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Wednesday, April 19, 2017) –Interstate 70 traffic may experience some slight delays again next week while contraflow is setup during the nighttime hours at the State Route 331 Interchange Improvement project in Belmont County.
Starting Monday, April 24th, both lanes on I-70 will be closed at different times in both directions. Work will take place Monday thru Thursday from 7PM to 9AM, and from 9PM to 7AM Friday and Saturday. This work is expected to be completed by April 29th.
Work began in April of last year on this $19.5 million, major interchange improvement project intended to reduce congestion and improve safety.
ODOT’s contractor is Shelly & Sands Inc., from Columbus, Ohio, and the completion date for the entire project is September 30, 2017.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
