Interstate 70 and State Route 9 traffic to be restricted next week near St. Clairsville for survey work
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, April 20, 2010) – Traffic could be interrupted on Interstate 70 and State Route 9 near St. Clairsville in Belmont County next week for survey work.
Between Monday, April 26th and Friday, April 30th, SR 9 traffic may be stopped intermittently with flaggers under I-70, while nighttime lane closures are anticipated on I-70.
American Structurepoint, Inc., from Columbus, Ohio, ODOT's consultant for the 2012 replacement of four I-70 bridges, including two bridges over SR 9 and two over the St Clairsville National Road bike path, will be gathering land survey information to assist in their design work.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
