I-70 westbound to be restricted west of St. Clairsville for bridge painting next week
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Wednesday, April 26, 2017) – Starting next Tuesday night, May 2nd, Interstate 70 westbound will have nightly lane closures between 8 PM and 6 AM west of Exit 215 in Belmont County to complete bridge painting on the County Road 56 bridge over the highway that was repaired last November.
Work is expected to take three nights, ending by 6 AM, Friday, May 5th.
ODOT’s contractor for this $159,000 project is Armstrong Steel Erectors, Inc., from Newark, Ohio.
The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state's largest man-made asset – the transportation system. As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
