State Route 800 to be Closed Next Week Just North of Tippecanoe for Culvert Replacement
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --State Route 800 will be closed next Tuesday, May 5th, just north of Tippecanoe in Harrison County for a culvert replacement.
SR 800 will be closed for nine days. Beginning at the intersection of SR 800 and SR 342 in Freeport, traffic will be detoured west on SR 342 to SR 258 north back to SR 800 and reverse. There is also a shorter detour around the construction area for local traffic only.
The roadway is expected to be reopened to traffic May 13th, weather permitting.
ODOT’s contractor for this $82,000 project is Ohio-West Virginia Excavating Co., from Powhatan Point, Ohio, and the completion date is May 15, 2009.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
