Area bridges to be inspected
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, April 27, 2015) – Weather permitting, several Jefferson and Columbiana County bridges will be inspected over the next two weeks during daytime hours by an ODOT crew and a snooper truck.
On Monday, May 4th, officials will inspect the State Route 43 bridge over the Lawson Avenue extension in Steubenville. On Tuesday, May 5th, they will shift to two SR 7 bridges – one over Jefferson County Road 47 and Croxton Run and the other located over the Norfolk Southern railroad just south of the SR 152 Exit. On Wednesday, May 6th, crews will move to Columbiana County, starting with the SR 7 bridge over SR 45 and Little Yellow Creek at Wellsville.
The following week, crews will continue to inspect bridges in Columbiana County, starting with two U.S. Route 30 bridges on Monday, May 11th, over the railroad, the Ohio River, and ramp at East Liverpool. On Tuesday, May 12th, officials will move to the two SR 39 bridges over the railroad and the U.S. 30 westbound ramp.
And on Wednesday, May 13th, the SR 170 bridge over Little Beaver Creek south of Fredericktown and the SR 344 bridge over Little Beaver Creek west of Leetonia will be inspected.
Traffic will be restricted but maintained at all of these locations during this work.
