INTERSTATE 77 SOUTHBOUND OFF-RAMP AT DOVER TO BE RESTRICTED AT NIGHT THIS WEEK
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Interstate 77 southbound off-ramp at State Route 39 in Dover will be reduced to one lane beginning tonight at 7 p.m. as part of the intersection reconstruction and widening work underway from the interchange to Renner Road in Tuscarawas County.
Work began in March on the $6.3 million project to improve the safety and reduce congestion from the I-77 Interchange to Renner Road as well as raise the elevation of SR 39 west of Saltwell Road.
This lane closure is needed to allow for drainage and excavation work for a new right-turn lane from the off-ramp to SR 39. This restriction will only be in place for three nights, beginning tonight, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. It will not be restricted during daytime hours.
ODOT’s contractor is J.D. Williamson Construction Co., Inc., from Tallmadge, Ohio, and the completion date is August 31, 2009.
