State Route 39 to be closed next week for a culvert replacement
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, May 02, 2016) – State Route 39 will be closed to traffic during daytime hours next Monday and Tuesday, May 9th and 10th, between New Philadelphia and Dover in Tuscarawas County for a culvert replacement project.
ODOT’s maintenance crew will be replacing a culvert near Rick's Motor Sales. Work is expected to take two days to complete.
The road will be closed between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.
Westbound SR 39 traffic will be detoured on Interstate 77 northbound (Exit 81) in New Philadelphia to the SR 39 (Exit 83) in Dover.
Eastbound SR 39 EB traffic will be detoured on I-77 southbound (Exit 83) in Dover to the US 250/SR 39 towards New Philadelphia/Uhrichsville (Exit 81), back to SR 39 in New Philadelphia.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
