State Route 751 to be closed during daytime hours next week for culvert work
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, May 02, 2016) – State Route 751 will be closed to traffic during daytime hours next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (May 11th-13th) south of Stone Creek in Tuscarawas County for culvert work.
ODOT’s maintenance crew will be replacing two culverts and repairing one between Dunkle Rd. SW and Buckhorn Rd. prior to upcoming paving work.
Beginning at the intersection of U.S. Route 36 and SR 751, traffic will be detoured east on U.S. 36 to Interstate 77 north back to SR 751, and reverse.
The road will be closed between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Work is expected to take three days to complete.
The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state's largest man-made asset – the transportation system. ODOT's mission is to provide the safe and easy movement of people and goods from place to place. As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
