Zepernick Lake Wildlife Area to be Resurfaced
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) will begin work next Monday, May 11th, to resurface the parking lot and boat launch ramp in the Zepernick Wildlife Area located about four miles northwest of Hanoverton in western Columbiana County. Access is provided from State Route 172, which bisects the area.
The parking lot and boat launch ramp will be closed to the public Monday through Thursday during this work. However, both will be reopened to the public Friday through Sunday.
All work is expected to be completed by May 21, 2009, prior to Memorial Day weekend.
The contractor for this $29,913 project is Joseph A. Jeffries Company Inc., from Louisville, Ohio.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
