State Route 800 closure rescheduled north of Barnesville
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Thursday, May 04, 2017) – Weather permitting, State Route 800 will now be closed on Tuesday, May 30th, for 14 days for a culvert replacement project north of Barnesville in Belmont County.
It was postponed from late April due to scheduling conflicts.
Traffic will be detoured on SR 147 east to SR 149 to Interstate 70 west back to SR 800.
This is part of a $1.1 million project that includes five total culverts in Belmont County; however, work has not begun at the other four locations.
ODOT’s contractor is Americon Industrial Services LLC, from Youngstown, Ohio, and the completion date is August 15, 2017.
The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state's largest man-made asset – the transportation system. ODOT's mission is to provide the safe and easy movement of people and goods from place to place. As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
