ODOT Seeks Comments on Planned Improvements to State Route 643 in Holmes County
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing improvements to State Route 643 by replacing the existing bridge located over an Unnamed Tributary to South Fork Sugar Creek just west of State Route 93 in Holmes County.
The proposed project will completely replace the existing concrete slab bridge with a precast concrete structure. Rock channel protection will also be added.
The road will be closed during construction anticipated for next summer, and a detour will be provided. New right of way will be acquired to complete the project.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include impacts associated with architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials, and the general location of the project.
