U.S. Route 22 Resurfacing to Begin in Harrison County
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 will begin work next week to resurface almost four miles of U.S. Route 22 in Harrison County.
ODOT's contractor, Lash Paving Inc., from Colerain, Ohio, will begin placing work zone signs on Monday, May 11th and plan to begin physical work, weather permitting, on Wednesday, May 13th to resurface all four lanes of U.S. 22 from just east of the SR 151 Exit near Hopedale to the Jefferson County line.
One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. However, no work will occur over the Memorial Day weekend.
The completion date for this $4.2 million project is September 15, 2009.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
