Pavement Repairs Underway on State Routes 26 and 148 in Belmont County
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 began pavement repair work this week on State Routes 26 and 148 in Belmont County in preparation for chip sealing planned to take place next month.
Beginning in June, weather permitting, just over seven miles of SR 26 will be chip sealed from the Monroe County line to the junction of SR 148, and about 12 miles of SR 148 will be chip sealed from the intersection of SR 800 to SR 145.
Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
ODOT’s contractor for this $655,439 project is The Shelly Company, from Thornville, Ohio, and the completion date is July 31, 2009.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
