ODOT seeks comments on construction of salt reload facility west of Scio
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Thursday, May 14, 2015) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is seeking comments on its proposed construction of a salt reload facility along State Route 151 in Harrison County. The facility will be located on a vacant parcel of land in North Township just west of the village of Scio.
Construction will include a 40’X 50’ salt storage building, a 24’X 24’ loader building, and a fuel station. The project will utilize 100% state funds. New right of way will be required to complete the project; however, no residential or business relocations will be involved.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental, and economic impacts of this proposed project. Environmental impacts include those associated with historical archeological or architectural resources, ecological resources, hazardous materials, and/or any general concerns regarding the project.
