Dennison Avenue at Cadiz to be closed next week for paving
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Wednesday, May 18, 2016) – Weather permitting, Dennison Avenue at Cadiz will be closed next Thursday and Friday, May 26th and 27th, for paving as part of the Township Road 243 bridge removal project over U.S. Route 22 in Harrison County.
The road will be closed to traffic Thursday morning and reopen by Friday evening. No official detour will be posted.
Work began late last November on the $1.5 million project to remove the bridge located between the intersections of U.S. 22/SR 9 and U.S. 22/U.S. 250 and relocate TR 243 to intersect with Dennison Avenue north of U.S. 22 and include a cul-de-sac south of U.S. 22.
One, 12-foot lane will be maintained in each direction on U.S. 22.
ODOT’s contractor is the Beaver Excavating Company, from Canton, Ohio, and the completion is mid-October 2016.
The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state's largest man-made asset – the transportation system.
