ODOT Seeks Comments on State Route 149 Culvert Replacement in Belmont
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing the replacement of twin concrete pipes under State Route 149 just north of State Route 147 in the village of Belmont, Belmont County. The culverts carry an Unnamed Tributary to McMahon Creek.
The proposed project will completely replace the existing twin culverts at two locations with a single structure. Additionally, rock channel protection will be added.
Traffic will be maintained during construction anticipated for next summer. No new right of way will be acquired to complete the project.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include impacts associated with architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials and the general location of the project.
