Interstate 77 remains closed due to Dover Chemical incident; detour established
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, May 21, 2012, 1:00 PM) – Interstate 77 north and southbound lanes continue to be closed due to an incident at Dover Chemical in Tuscarawas County.
Detours have been established for north and southbound traffic as well as westbound U.S. Route 250.
I-77 northbound traffic is being rerouted at Exit 81 in New Philadelphia to State Route 416 north to SR 800 north to SR 212 west back to I-77 at Bolivar. The I-77 southbound detour is reversed. Traffic must exit the highway at Bolivar.
U.S. 250 westbound traffic is being detoured at the S. Broadway Exit in New Philadelphia to SR 416 north to SR 800 north to SR 212 west back to U.S. 250 west at Beach City for vehicle traffic; however, all truck traffic must use I-77 north at Bolivar to U.S. 30 west back to U.S. 250 in Wooster.
