Route 171 to be closed north of Carrollton
Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, May 22, 2017) – State Route 171 will be closed the week of June 5th
for 45 days as part of the $1.13 million intersection improvement project
underway at State Route 9 north of Carrollton in Carroll County.
SR 171 traffic will be detoured on SR 9 south to SR 39 west
to SR 43 north back to SR 171, and reverse.
SR 9 was closed May 1st, and weather permitting, is
expected to be reopened by the end of this week.
When completed, the project will improve the intersection by
horizontally realigning SR 9 (Kensington Rd.) and raising the vertical profile
of SR 171 (Waynesburg Rd.).
ODOT’s contractor is Central-Allied Enterprises
Inc., from Canton, Ohio, and the completion date is September 30, 2017.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions
required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being,
or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of
Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
