State Route 11 Lane Restrictions; State Route 164 Road Closure for Bridge Replacement in Fairfield Township
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --Daytime lane closures are expected later this week on State Route 11 as part of a bridge replacement on State Route 164 just north of Beeson Mill Road in Columbiana County.
ODOT’s contractor, A P O'horo Company, from Youngstown, Ohio, will begin false decking work on the SR 164 bridge located over SR 11 tomorrow, weather permitting. This work is expected to begin in the southbound lanes of SR 11 and take four days to complete.
Then, SR 164 will be closed to traffic next Thursday, June 4th, for 70 days. Beginning at the intersection of SR 164 and SR 517, traffic will be detoured east on SR 517 to SR 7, then north on SR 7 to SR 14 west back to SR 164, and reverse.
The completion date for this $1.36 million project October 15, 2009.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
