Sections of State Route 7 to be Resurfaced in Belmont and Columbiana Counties
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 will begin work next Monday, June 1st, to resurface about three miles of State Route 7 in Belmont County and almost two miles of the route in Columbiana County.
In Belmont County, SR 7 will be resurfaced from just north of the Moundsville Bridge to Shadyside, and in Columbiana County, SR 7 will be resurfaced from County Road 427 to the city of East Liverpool's southern corporation line.
One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction.
ODOT’s contractor for this $1.43 million project is Shelly & Sands Inc., from Zanesville, Ohio, and the completion date is July 31, 2009.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
