State Route 147 to be Closed Next Week near Key for Landslide Repairs
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --State Route 147 will be closed to traffic next Wednesday, June 3rd, near Key in Belmont County for landslide repairs.
A landslide reduced the roadway to one lane March 31, 2009. Ohio-West Virginia Excavating Co., from Powhatan Point, Ohio, contractor for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11, will be constructing a 300-foot long H-pile retaining wall to repair the slide area.
SR 147 will be closed for 60 days. Beginning at the intersection of SR 147 and SR 9 in Centerville, traffic will be detoured north on SR 9 to SR 149 in Warnock, then east on SR 149 back to SR 147 in Bellaire, and reverse.
The total cost of the project is $291,339.50.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
