State Route 171
closure north of Carrollton delayed to weather
NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO - The 45-day
closure set for State Route 171 north of Carrollton will be delayed one week
due to weather. The roadway will now be closed the week of June 12th
as part of the $1.13 million intersection improvement project underway at State
Route 9 in Carroll County.
SR 171 traffic will be detoured
on SR 9 south to SR 39 west to SR 43 north back to SR 171, and reverse.
SR 9, which closed May 1st,
will not be opened until the end of next week – also delayed one week due to
When completed, the project will
improve the intersection by horizontally realigning SR 9 (Kensington Rd.) and
raising the vertical profile of SR 171 (Waynesburg Rd.).
ODOT’s contractor is
Central-Allied Enterprises Inc., from Canton, Ohio, and the completion date is
September 30, 2017.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions
required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being,
or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of
Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
