State Route 179 to be Closed West of Lakeville for Bridge Replacement
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) -- The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 will begin work Monday, June 1st, to replace a bridge over an unnamed tributary of the Mohican River located approximately four miles north of State Route 39 and west of Lakeville in Holmes County.
State Route 179 will be closed to traffic on Monday, June 8th for 14 days.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 179 and SR 39, traffic will be detoured west on SR 39 to SR 3 in Loudonville, then east on SR 3 back to SR 179, and reverse.
ODOT’s contractor for this $171,663 project is V O Menuez & Son Inc., from Millersburg, Ohio, and the completion date is August 15, 2009.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
