U.S. Route 30 to be closed next week near West Point for bridge repair project
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, June 1, 2010) – U.S. Route 30 will be closed to traffic next Tuesday, June 8th, just west of the State Route 11 Interchange at West Point for a bridge repair project.
Beginning at the intersection of U.S. 30 and SR 45 in Lisbon, traffic will be detoured east on SR 154 to SR 11, then south on SR 11 back to U.S. 30, and reverse.
U.S. 30 will be closed for 70 consecutive calendar days between June 8th and August 15th. However, the completion date for the project is September 30, 2010.
ODOT's contractor for this $629,000 project is A P O'horo Company, from Youngstown, Ohio.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
