State Route 171 to be Closed Next Week in Carroll County for a Culvert Replacement
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 will close State Route 171 next Wednesday, June 11th, for a culvert replacement just east of State Route 43 in Carroll County.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 171 and SR 43, traffic will be detoured south on SR 43 to SR 39 in Carrollton, then east on SR 39 to SR 9 north back to SR 171 and reverse.
ODOT District 11 Deputy Director Dick Bible, P.E. said, "To minimize delays caused by this work, we’ve included a contract provision intended to speed the pace of construction by limiting the number of consecutive days the roadway can be closed to just 21 total."
ODOT’s contractor for this $159,975 project is Mike Pusateri Excavating Inc., from East Liverpool, Ohio, and the overall completion date is July 31, 2008.
