Interstate 70 eastbound to be restricted next week for bridge maintenance work
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Friday, June 4, 2010) – Interstate 70 eastbound will be restricted for bridge deck repair work through Belmont County, beginning Monday, June 7th, 2010.
ODOT's maintenance crews will be patching eastbound bridge decks starting at the Guernsey County line and working eastward for about two weeks.
One lane of traffic will be maintained; however, daily lane closures are expected with possible overnight lane closures, if needed. Westbound lanes will not be affected at this time.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
