ODOT advises residents along U.S. Route 40 between Blaine Hill and Bridgeport of upcoming sweeping work
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Friday, June 4, 2010) – ODOT is advising residents along U.S. Route 40 between Blaine Hill and the Bridgeport corporation limit in Belmont County of roadway sweeping planned for next Thursday and Friday, June 10th and 11th.
Officials are asking residents to remove on-street parking during daytime hours for these two days.
ODOT's contractor for this work is Contract Sweepers & Equipment Co., from Columbus, Ohio. It is part of a $179,000 districtwide barrier and bridge sweeping project.
Traffic will be maintained.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
