Second Interstate 70 westbound lane opened to traffic
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, June 4, 2012) – The second westbound lane of Interstate 70 at Exit 220 in Belmont County is now reopened to traffic.
Two of the three westbound lanes were closed last Tuesday night due to a slope failure.
ODOT’s contractor, Ohio-West Virginia Excavating Co., from Powhatan Point, worked all weekend on temporary repairs to stabilize the slope and get the second westbound lane reopened to traffic.
The westbound truck climbing lane will remain closed until a permanent repair can be designed and constructed.
