Work begins on State Route 7 bridge projects at Mingo Junction
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, June 10, 2013) – Work is getting underway on two separate bridge projects on State Route 7 at Mingo Junction in Jefferson County.
One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at both structures on SR 7.
One bridge is over McLister Avenue just south of Logan Avenue. The northbound off-ramp to Logan Avenue will be closed during Phase One of the project expected to begin later this month. The cost of this project is $2.55 million.
The second bridge is located over Gladys Avenue just north of Georges Run (SR 151). The northbound on-ramp to SR 7 at SR 151 will be closed during construction also expected to begin later this month. On-ramp traffic will be detoured on County Road 7D and Commercial Avenue. The cost of this project is $1.7 million.
Shelly & Sands Inc., from Zanesville, Ohio is the contractor for both of these projects, and all work on both bridges should be completed by May 2014.
