State Route 151 to be Closed Next Week in New Alexandria for a Culvert Replacement
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 will begin work next Wednesday, June 18th, to replace a culvert on State Route 151 in the village of New Alexandria in Jefferson County.
SR 151 will be closed to traffic on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 for two weeks.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 151 and SR 7, traffic will be detoured south on SR 7 to SR 150 west to SR 152 north back to SR 151 in Smithfield, and reverse.
ODOT District 11 Deputy Director Dick Bible, P.E. said, "To minimize delays caused by this work, we’ve included a contract provision intended to speed the pace of construction by limiting the number of consecutive days the roadway can be closed to just 14 total."
ODOT’s contractor for this $148,315 project is B.O.G. Construction Inc., from Berlin Center, Ohio, and the overall completion date for the project is August 15, 2008.
