Resurfacing work to begin next week on State Routes 21 and 212 north of Strasburg
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Friday, June 11, 2010) – Resurfacing work is set to begin Monday, June 14th, on State Routes 21 and 212 north of Strasburg in Tuscarawas County.
About a mile and a half of SR 21 will be resurfaced from U.S. Route 250 to the junction of SR 212, and almost six miles of SR 212 will be resurfaced from the Stark County line to east of Shepler Church Avenue.
Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
ODOT's contractor for this $927,719 project is Newton Asphalt Paving Inc., from Strasburg, Ohio, and the completion date is mid-September.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
