Resurfacing work to begin next week on State Routes 9 and 149 in Belmont County
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, June 11, 2012) – Resurfacing work is set to begin next Monday, June 18th, on sections of State Route 9 and 149 in Belmont and Harrison counties.
Over seven miles of SR 9 will be resurfaced from the St. Clairsville north corporation line to the intersection of SR 149 and SR 9 in New Athens. Additionally, nine miles of SR 149 will be resurfaced from just west of the Bellaire corp. limit to Glencoe’s west corp. limit.
Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
ODOT’s contractor for this $3.9 million project is Shelly & Sands Inc., from Zanesville, Ohio, and the completion date is May, 31, 2013. However, a one mile section of SR 149 through Neffs will be skipped this summer due to ongoing water and sewer line work. This will be completed next year.
